Revolutionary singer Vangapandu dies
Uttarandhra revolutionary singer Vangapandu has died on Tuesday morning at his residence in Parvathipuram of Vizianagaram district. His full name is Vangapandu Prasad Rao and was born in the year 1943 at the same place.
In the year 1972, Vangapandu established ‘Jana Naatyamandali’ and in over three decades, he penned and crooned 300 songs. These songs empowered the Uttarandhra people and it also gave Vangapandu the tag of ‘Gaddar of Uttarandhra.’
There are also controversies in Vangapandu’s career too. ‘Yem Pillado Yeldam Vastava’ song lines were used in Ram Charan’s ‘Magadheera’ movie and on this Vangapandu protested at Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts office. Later the issue got settled.
